I fell in love with our house before we had even walked through the front door! It was the perfect house in the village we wanted to live in and I wanted to make an offer before we had seen it – but the estate agent insisted we view first.
From the moment I walked through the door I was in love, a 1930’s style semi-detached house with a nice size drive and a lovely back garden. My Dad said straight away “we’ll ‘ave it” (yes we viewed with my parents, Dads a builder so he knows what to look for). When we left to view another property and I cried as I got in the car, Lee (my hubby) couldn’t work out why I was crying but I really didn’t want to look anywhere else!
By the end of the day it was ours!
However, for all its amazing character the house had very little done since 1970 something which is very evident in the decor – its definitely a doer-upper (just the way we like it!)
There was no central heating in the house, only storage heaters which we were advised not to use – we were very glad it was May and not too cold!
So as you can imagine the hard work is just beginning as we make this lovely house into our family home – I can’t wait!
